Buying headphones is a personal experience but it’s also a fashion statement for young kids. Gear4 wanted to find a new way of packaging their entry level EARZ headphones that could connect with the younger audience through music tastes and interests as well as colour coordinating headphones with their outfits in a fun way.
We turned the packaging into characters with their own personality traits and colour ways that could create an immediate connection with the audience and a point of reflection for whatever character suited them and their tastes but also which colourway headphone best suited them, or even which collection of colours for different outfits.
Effectively turning the packaging into a toy helped the product stand off the shelves, became a discussion point and also added value to the quality product inside. They became icons that created a range of heroes that could connect with all facets of music tastes and kids interests in a tangibly fun and engaging way.
Following the success of the EARZ range we were also approached to create influencer promoted headphones sets. The first of which was working with the Dizzee Rascal team to develop his own personalised packaging.
